Red Nose Day – Friday 15th March 2024
As part of our journey towards achieving Gold Rights Respecting School Status and our Right of the Month focus on Article 28: Access to Education, our Rights Champions have decided to raise money for Comic Relief: Red Nose Day. Here are some of the activities they have organised:
- Sale of red noses: These can be paid for via Parent Pay for £2 each by Wednesday at the latest. Noses will be handed out to pupils on receipt of payment. No cash please.
- Guess the Teddy’s birthday: Each guess costs £1 which can be paid for on Parent Pay. Last guesses by Thursday please. The winner will be announced Friday 15th.
- Wear Red: We are asking everyone to wear something red for fun on Friday 15th.
- Whole School Conga: Let’s see if we can get everyone joining in!
- Kahoot Quiz: Each class will have the chance to take part in this quiz created by the Rights Champs.
- Design a mask: Everyone will have the chance to design their own red and superhero masks to wear.
General donations for dressing up or the whole school conga can be given through this fundraising page . All donations are gratefully received. We also appreciate that not everyone is in the position to do so.

Leithers of the Week
Haris | Primary 1/2 | For having a lovely first week as a new pupil here at Leith Primary School. Haris is settling in so well and it is lovely to have him here. |
Aurla | Primary 1a | Aurla always has a positive attitude towards her learning and has been a very supportive friend. Well done, Aurla! |
Quinn | Primary 1b | Quinn has been working really hard in phonics and in his Maths groups this week. He has been pushing himself to reach his targets in both Maths and Literacy. |
Iris | Primary 2 | Iris’ positive attitude is growing and she is keen to try her very best in class activities. She is combining this with her great listening skills and regularly shows what she can do or what she thinks in phonics and health and wellbeing. Well done Iris, you’re an inspiration to others! |
Stanley | Primary 3 | Stanley has been putting lots of effort into all aspects of his work. He always comes into school with a great attitude and a smile on his face and regularly cheers his classmates up. |
Sahib | Primary 3/4 | For effectively contributing ideas to a writing lesson and successfully writing a character description. Keep up the good work! |
Jana and Mariam | Primary 4 | They have been teaching P4 about Ramadan and helping Mrs Watson read Arabic! |
Misha | Primary 5a | Misha puts love of effort into his learning and his Home Learning. He completes tasks at home every week. Well done. |
Omar | Primary 5b | Omar has been responsible and helpful in class, looking for opportunities to provide support to adults and pupils alike. Thank you and well done! |
Jude | Primary 7 | For putting his all into writing a persuasive letter to the President of China, which discussed pollution issues to persuade him to rule against opening 20 new factories in Beijing. Jude demonstrated a positive ‘can do’ attitude and growth mindset. Keep it up! |
