LPS Newsletter

A brilliant well done to all our intrepid skies this week who took to the slopes of The Lecht. We were delighted that we could take this cheery bunch of 32 P5-P7 year olds on a our yearly trip to Lagganlia Outdoor Centre in the Cairngorms. Thanks again to our KPE4 funding, we were able to offer tired funding so that families were able to pay what they could afford, something that it is so important to us at Leith PS. A massive thank you to Mrs Stiven, Mrs Clarkson, Ms Shaffiq and Mr Stuart for supporting this great bunch get there and back in one piece. Here’s to the next trip!

Generation Science Fun

P4 and P6, P5/6 and P7 were delighted to welcome our longtime friends from Generation Science this week. P4 learned about the properties of materials in Fizz, Boom, Bang whilst P5/6, P6 and P7 learning a spot of Creative Coding. We are already looking forward to welcoming the teams back to work with younger classes in a few weeks time.

Internet Safety Week

As well as our special NSPCC assemblies on Speak Out, Stay Safe, all classes spent time this week learning about how to stay safe whilst on the internet, marking Internet Safety Day on Tuesday. As well as being one of the most fantastic tools for learning, the internet is also one of the biggest potential dangers to our young people’s safety. If you would like to know more about how to keep your child safe on their device and online, please go to the NSPCC website.
