Hello Parents and Carers!
This is your Parent Council page. Parent councils help parents and carers to become involved in their children’s learning and provide a voice for them.
Annual Activities: Leith Primary Parent Council organises a variety of events and initiatives, these include:
- Welcome Coffee Morning
- Welcome Picnic
- Halloween Disco
- Creation of the School Calendar (our largest fundraiser)
- Christmas cards
- Christmas event
- School library
- Piper and Hoodies for the P7s
- Individual and Class Photos
- Providing funding for trips
- Fundraising for school playground
- Providing funding for school equipment
- Ice lollies at school sports day
And we would love to do much more!
How can you get involved: None of the above would happen without volunteer parents and carers. Your involvement is invaluable. Whether you’re interested in taking on a role or simply wish to contribute your ideas, your participation helps ensure that our Parent Council continues and reflects the diverse voices of our school community. If we don’t have a Parent Council, we lose out on council finding.
We send out an email update, via the school email once a month. We are always looking for volunteers, to be helpers at events, bake goods, decorate, fill in funding forms. Please send us an email if you can help with any of the activities.
We are really keen to have a parent representative for each class, to help with communication. Could you be the parent rep for your child’s class? Let us know.
Parent Council Meetings: We meet once a term, on a Wednesday at 6.15pm, in the school library. A cup of tea and childcare are always available.
Our AGM is in May, when we elect new office bearers, a Chairperson, a Secretary, and a Treasurer (Each can be in these roles for 2 years).
