Education Wellbeing Service is a centralised service within The City of Edinburgh Council, the team supports schools and families with issues around education and barriers to attending school. If you feel the team could offer support to your family, please contact ewsmailbox@ea.edin.sch.uk
Support With Travel

Support with Period Poverty
A reminder that these products are available in all schools. They are also available to pick up, no questions asked, in Libraries and Community Centres across the city. Re usable pants, pads and cups are also available in Libraries. The Discover Programme which helps low-income families with food and activities and other supports during the school holidays. Ask at the school office or our Family Support Worker if you would like to be referred.

Support with Food At Home
In addition to referrals to foodbanks, if a family needs urgent help you may want to visit the Shrub Coop where people can drop in anytime 11-6pm from Tuesday to Saturday – Food Sharing Edinburgh | SHRUB Coop
Crisis offers support and advocacy to families and individuals who are currently homeless or at risk of homelessness in Edinburgh and the surrounding area. We can help with finding housing that is appropriate to your needs, keeping your current home and preventing eviction. We also offer support to sustain your housing and resolve homelessness permanently. Young Scot and Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ) have come together to offer a new package of support for young people aged 11 – 25 who are in care and/ or justice experienced. Including kinship, foster, residential care, being looked after at home under CSO or someone who’s been adopted and was previously ‘looked after’ and/ or has encountered the justice system due to suspected, alleged, or confirmed involvement in offending behaviour.
The package includes items and experiences to help young people navigate transitions and other key moments throughout their lives. Items and experiences may include: Wellbeing box containing seasonal items, shopping vouchers, a moving out kit (kitchen items, bedding, homeware) driving lessons, laptops, mobile phones and credit, cooking courses and more. Speak to the school office or our Family Support Worker for more information.
